Getting things done across time zones

I stumbled across this piece entitled “How to be productive when everyone you work with is in a different time zone,” and found it an interesting read. Here’s an excerpt:

My team is spread across four states and three time zones. People often ask me how we find good times to meet. My answer: It’s not easy, but it’s also rarely necessary. Working remotely, especially when your team is distributed across the globe, means working asynchronously. And it’s a skill.

In my current role, I work on virtual teams with people across the the US and the globe. Whether you manage staff or not, the principles shared in this piece are well worth incorporating into how to get things done in the workplace today — time zones or not.
