Photography

I’ve been taking pictures since the late 1970’s, first as “snaps” and later in high school, as a “working photographer” for the school newspaper and yearbook. I studied videography, photography, and design in college, and although my career didn’t take me down the path of a professional cameraman nor a photographer, imaging has played an important part in my professional career and personal development.

I’ve won awards for some of my photos, had shots used for the covers of books and in magazine articles, and because of choosing to license my photos through Creative Commons, seen numerous pieces appear on websites, blogs, and other pages on the Web. However, public recognition and use of my work is not what motivates me; photography is a creative path that enables me to look at the world through, literally, different lenses.
