In the world of higher education textbooks, the industry has predicted that digital sales will exceed print sales roughly now and surprise, publishers are reporting just that. Although what counts as a digital sale is up for debate, the more important point is that the industry is progress through (rather that projecting it will) change. It isn’t a question of what or how anymore; it is more of what will textbook publishing look like when the transition is complete — say within the next five years.
